Traces in Time is an open-access scholarly journal.
All published contributions are freely and immediately available online, without registration, subscription or payment requirements. The Journal promotes the free circulation of scholarly knowledge and considers access to research outputs a fundamental principle of its editorial activity.
Access to all content published by Traces in Time is therefore free of charge for all readers. This approach is consistent with the definition of open access set out by the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI).
Authors retain copyright of their contributions during the submission and evaluation process.
Upon acceptance for publication, authors transfer the copyright of their contribution to Traces in Time, in accordance with the Journal’s Code of Ethics.
Copyright of published contributions is therefore held by Traces in Time, without prejudice to the authors’ moral rights and their right to be properly acknowledged as the authors of their work.
The transfer of copyright does not restrict the dissemination and reuse of published contributions under the terms of the Creative Commons licence adopted by the Journal.
Contributions published by Traces in Time are distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence.
This licence allows anyone to share, copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format, and to adapt, remix, transform and build upon the material for any purpose, including commercial purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given, a link to the licence is provided, and any changes made are indicated.

Traces in Time does not charge authors any fees for the submission, evaluation, editorial processing or publication of contributions.
The entire editorial process – from the management of peer review to editorial revision and proofreading, layout and online publication – is provided to authors completely free of charge, in the belief that scholarly research and its dissemination should be as accessible and widely shared as possible.
There are therefore no Article Processing Charges (APCs), submission fees, page charges, editing fees, publication fees or any other charges to authors.
Traces in Time is managed by D’Altra Parte – ETS, a Social Promotion Association (Associazione di Promozione Sociale), which supports the Journal’s editorial activities alongside its cultural and social initiatives.
The Association may be supported through voluntary donations. Such donations are entirely optional and completely independent of the editorial process: they do not constitute a fee or charge for authors and have no influence whatsoever on the evaluation, acceptance or publication of contributions.
The submission and publication of a contribution in Traces in Time are under no circumstances conditional upon a donation or any other form of financial support to the Association.
